We know that burnout personally because we’ve lived it.
We’ve been the ones replying to work emails with one hand while folding laundry with the other. We’ve felt the exhaustion of trying to be everything to everyone, all while quietly carrying the mental and physical load that never lets up. We’ve tried outsourcing with apps, hiring cleaners, and building color-coded calendars only to end up back in reactive mode, still exhausted, overwhelmed and feeling burned out.

Meet the Founders
Octavia Moore is a seasoned Operations Leader with over 15 years of experience at companies like Microsoft, Amazon, and Bungie. Known for her ability to turn chaos into clarity, she specializes in implementing mechanisms and designing systems that streamline workflows, manage complex projects, and enhance organizational efficiency.
A pivotal question from her husband—“What is your time worth?”—sparked a shift in how she approached home life. By applying the same strategic thinking she brought to the boardroom, Octavia discovered a more present, joyful, and intentional way of living. Today, she’s committed to helping other families embrace that same empowering mindset, reclaiming their time and transforming daily life into something more sustainable and fulfilling.
Tia Avril, an engineer by training, lived a different version of the same story. As her husband’s NFL career moved their family from city to city, she became the glue holding it all together. She navigated constant transitions, reestablished routines, and absorbed the full mental and emotional load of home life. Even with full-time focus, she felt buried under the weight of it all: exhausted, reactive, and stuck in survival mode.
Her engineering background craved something better: systems, predictability, and real support. But none of the apps, platforms, or task-based services solved the real problem. That frustration fueled her vision. Together with Octavia, she co-founded The Effortless Home to bring operational excellence into households so families can finally breathe, reset, and experience life with less stress and more presence.
So we built the solution we needed.
